TWO MORE CSA ACADEMY PLAYERS MAKE COMMITMENTS
Players will attend UNC Asheville and UNC Charlotte this fall
The CSA US Development Academy program is proud to announce two more commitments to colleges for the 2012 season. Jaron Bradley will attend and play soccer at UNC Asheville and Kyle Parker will attend 2011 NCAA Division One Runner-up UNC Charlotte.
Comments from Bradley: “My time at CSA was unforgettable, it is a fantastic club and family to be a part of. After joining CSA and working with their professional staff, my level of play and knowledge of game strategy and tactics improved significantly and led to an opportunity to continue to play soccer in college. After looking at several universities, I selected the University of North Carolina at Asheville. I decided upon UNCA because of the coaching staff that I feel are in good character and believe in a strong close knit team, their commitment to building their program, the strength and location of the university, and also, the camaraderie of the teammates I’ll soon join.”
Comments from Parker: “The past four years at CSA have really changed me as a player and even better yet as a person. Working with some of the best coaches and some of the best players has really helped me develop into the player I have become. I would like to thank everyone at CSA that has played a role in my soccer career. I am very excited and looking forward to playing at UNCC next year. It has top of the line facilities, coaches, and players and I can’t wait to get into the environment there and begin my college soccer career. I plan on finishing out the academy season strong and to keep developing as a player.”
Comments from Richard Butler, Academy Director: “This is great news for both Jaron and Kyle. Jaron has become a very good goalkeeper over the years having worked exceedingly hard with our goalkeeping staff. He is a very good shot stopper and communicator. Kyle has to be one of the most creative players in the region. His first touch and vision are very good which give him the chance to create chances out of nothing sometimes. He can play up front or in midfield which also gives him a little more latitude as a player too. I wish them both all the best as they move into the college game.”
Comments from Brad Wylde, Executive Director: “Both Kyle and Jaron were part of SCSA, now CSA’s first regional championship teams to come out of the club at the U14-U15 age group. To see both boys stay committed to the club and the game of soccer has shown dividends to them being given the opportunity to play at the next level. They are hard working dedicated players with great family support; we wish them all the best for the future.”

SIX CSA ACADEMY PLAYERS MAKE COMMITMENTS
Air Force, Furman, Princeton, UNC Wilmington and UNC Charlotte head the list
The CSA Academy program is proud to announce the first five commitments to colleges for the 2012 season. Ben Kern will attend the Air Force Academy in Colorado, Bennett Yort will attend Furman University in South Carolina, John Kendall will attend Princeton University in New Jersey, Santiago Patino and Nathaniel Goodwin will attend UNC Wilmington in North Carolina and Brandon Kardos will attend and play soccer at UNC Charlotte.
Comments from Ben Kern: “My time with CSA could not have been better. Our team has mostly stayed together since we were 14 years old and we enjoyed a great deal of success. The coaches in the Development Academy program, and the ones at CSA, have developed me into a player who can compete with some of the best players in the program, and at the collegiate level which is a dream come true. I chose to play soccer at the United States Air Force Academy because I knew that I wanted to serve in the armed forces and thought there was no better way to do so. The school is one of the most competitive in the country, and the atmosphere that is there is very unique and one that I believe I could thrive in. I would like to say thanks to Brad Wylde, Ray Fraser, Richard Butler and Jeremy Gunn for everything they have taught me at my time at CSA”.
Comments from Bennett Yort: “These past three years playing for Charlotte Soccer Academy have been a great experience. After one year of driving back and forth to practice every day from Augusta, I had enough trust in the program to move to Charlotte for my last two years of the program. With these coaches I had the best opportunity to prepare for playing at a Division I college soccer and find the best fit for me academically. My main priority was finding a school that regarded academics as highly as its soccer program, and Furman definitely fits this description. The coaches are approachable and personable, and I see myself having the most success at Furman”.
Comments from Kendall: "I chose Princeton because it offers me an outstanding soccer and educational opportunity. Coach Barlow and Coach Totten have made Princeton a top tier program. Also, the Ivy League is one of the most competitive conferences in the country often placing two or three teams in the top 25. Coach Barlow and Coach Totten were both terrific mid-fielders in their day and I feel I have much to learn from them. Furthermore, I like Princeton’s style of play and feel like I will be able to fit in very well in their system. Finally, the academic opportunity at Princeton is extraordinary. CSA has done an incredible job preparing me for the next level, and has been hugely responsible for my development over the past two seasons. The Academy atmosphere that Coach Butler runs is one of the best in the country and being surrounded by such quality players on a daily basis has helped me become a far better player. I would like to thank Coach Butler and Coach Gunn and all the coaches at CSA for everything they have done for me."
Comments from Patino: “I have been fortunate enough to be part of Charlotte Soccer Academy and its US Developmental Academy program for three seasons now. The passion, dedication, and knowledge from our coaches and staff excel beyond any other program I have been part of. Thus, allowing me to further develop my talents as an athlete and soccer player, and as an individual both on and off the field. Being part of a very well rounded, well known, and highly credited Charlotte Soccer Academy club, has also given me the opportunity to have the exposure to the best level of soccer in the country which has led me to my commitment to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. My decision was driven from the very similar resemblance of my experience at CSA of a passionate coaching staff, extraordinary facilities, and very high level of soccer which I will also be able to be emerged in at UNC Wilmington, and continue to develop my soccer abilities and talents through my profound passion for the sport. Last but not least, I am extremely appreciative for the financial help that I received throughout my years with the club, which without, I would not have been able to pursue my current goals and dreams”.
Comments from Goodwin: "I have been a part of the US Developmental Academy Program at CSA for four years participating as a developmental player the first year and a full time player the past three years. Through this program, I was able to compete at the highest level against the top teams and players in the country. Charlotte Soccer Academy has some of the best coaches and facilities in the nation which has allowed me to develop and reach my highest potential. I would like to thank all of my coaches at CSA for helping me become the player I am today. I am thrilled to begin my collegiate career at UNC-Wilmington. I chose to be a Seahawk because of the family feel I received from the coaches as well as the players and also the ability to potentially contribute to the team early. First, I am looking forward to finishing the Academy season strongly and continuing to grow as a player."
Comments from Kardos: “I have a tremendous amount of gratitude for all that I have learned while playing for CSA for the past several years. The facilities, coaches and player development have all been first rate. I want to thank Brad Wylde for believing in me when I first joined the club a few years ago. While playing for the SCSA 93 Gold team, I learned what it takes to compete at the highest level. Being a part of CSA U.S. Development Academy, being coached by Richard Butler and continuing to compete with the top teams in the country have been equally rewarding. I am looking forward to playing for the Charlotte 49ers. Having the opportunity to play for a quality college team in my home town, led by a quality coach (Coach Langan), while still getting an excellent education, made the decision easy for me. I am looking forward to finishing out the season strong, working with Richard Butler and continuing to progress in the coming season”.
Comments from Richard Butler, Academy Director: “It is always great to see players leave our program and progress to the next level. All of these boys have exhibited over the years their dedication to soccer and the CSA. They have each tried to get better as their careers have progressed. They have also remained focused on their academics and it shows by the quality of schools that they have chosen. They have each been a pleasure to be around. I wish them all the best of luck and hope to see them perform next fall with their new teams”.
Comments from Brad Wylde, Executive Director of CSA: "On behalf of CSA we want to congratulate the boys on their hard work and commitment to CSA and the game of soccer resulting in them progressing their careers at the next level. We wish them all the best for the future."
