World Cup 2018 for USA and Charlotte
The USA are campaigning to host the 2018 World Cup Finals and Charlotte has applied to be one of the host cities for the tournament.
I have been fortunate enough to be put on the cities committee to try and bring the biggest sporting event in the world to our city in 9 years time. Charlotte is now down to the final 27 cities of which 12 will be selected next year if the US get the bid by FIFA.
Today, Wednesday, September 23rd, one of the members of the bid committee (Mr. John Kristick) for the US will be in Charlotte and touring the city.  This evening visit charlotte will be bringing him by Davie Park so he can see 1st hand the magnitude of soccer in the community and can leave Charlotte with a lasting impression of how excited we would be of hosting the world cup. Several of our teams will be practicing there and a couple of our players will be speaking to Mr. Kristick personally. For those families that are present at Davie this evening, please be advised there could be some press at the field and traffic could be busier than usual. Please allow time arriving and leaving the park with the extra traffic.

Additional tournament events (contact DOC) Carolina Border Cup
Please note the club will be hosting a tournament this December with US Soccer: the Carolina Border Cup December 5th – 6th. This will be a qualifier for the regionals in the summer for NC and SC teams. Some of CSA teams are already assigned to attend this event. If any teams want to do additional tournaments please communicate with your DOC as to the events that would suit your team.

Communication. The key to a successful club.
This will be on all my updates. Good communication is the key to as successful club. All families in the club should have the accessibility to communicate with your team coach and DOC throughout the season. Our coaches are reminded to have periodic meetings through the season to keep families up to date on the progression of the team. Myself and the DOC’s emails are on the website if you need to communicate with us. If you need to talk in person, we are in the office each day and if you do not reach us directly, we will return a call in a timely fashion to address any questions or concerns. We have a fantastic full time staff here at CSA and some great team coaches. If you have any issues with your team, club etc please do not allow a problem to persist. Communicate with the staff so we can deal with it and move on in a positive way.

Thanks
Have a great week
