Davidson soccer night for CSA Oct 17th (see attachment)
On October 17th, Davidson Men’s soccer team plays Furman and this will be classified as a CSA night for our organization.  All CSA players wearing their jerseys will be admitted for free.  Additional details can be found on the attached flier that accompanies this update.  This is a great opportunity to see a high level college game and meet the staff and players.

Hoodies/spirit wear for October.
Next month we will be launching our next spiritwear promotion as we get into the fall season leading up to the holidays.  We will be selling warm ups, backpacks, training tops and hoodies for the winter months as well as the most popular items through our booster program including umbrellas, blankets, chairs etc.  Our plan initially is to send a master sheet to all teams through managers and coaches and we will then get orders per team.  This will be an easier way to get the apparel out to each family.  There will still be opportunities to come into the office and purchase additional items throughout the fall but the main orders will be made through the teams.

Accounts Receivable (October 1st next payment) email reminder this week
October 1st is the next payment for club fees for the following age groups and levels: U11-U18 Classic (Charlotte only), Premier, and R3 boys and girls.  An email will be sent to you reminding you on the fees and payment.  Please make sure you keep updated on the fees.  PLEASE NOTE - suspension from games and practices will be implemented if families are not current on dues. Questions on fees, please email Ken at admin@charlottesocceracademy.com . Complete fee schedules are posted on the website and you may check your payment status or update your personal information by logging into your account.

Winter training camp dates/registration opening this week.
Winter training information and registration will be on line this week.  We will be doing independent training through the off season to keep players ahead of the game with a lot of technical training and small sided games.  We will run three weeks of two sessions a week starting the week of November 30th  and follow it up with one more week after the holidays.  Details on the camp, cost etc will be published on the website in the next few days.

Sideline behavior (reminder of what is acceptable at CSA)
We have been having some issues with the behavior on the sidelines over the last few weeks.  I wanted to remind everyone of the code of conduct that was signed upon commitment to a team at tryouts in May.  Please be reminded of our rules when observing games.  Spectators are to NOT talk to referees or opponents in any negative way.  COACHING is also prohibited, due to the mixed instructions the players receive, especially the younger age groups.  The coach needs to do the coaching.  The staff will ask spectators to leave if issues on behavior persist. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

Optional coaching education night Wednesday 6pm:  small sided shape.
CSA will be running a coaching session this Wednesday at CPI at 6pm.  Coaches are encouraged to attend to get some ideas on the topic (small sided shape)

Carolina Border Cup application now online.
CSA is hosting the Carolina Border Cup in December (5th – 6th). Teams that are scheduled to compete in this event need to register online through our website.  Any teams looking for an additional event towards the end of year are encouraged to attend our next tournament.

Additional training for older age groups
On Fridays, we offer technical and speed and agility training for all age groups.  The numbers for the older sessions are very low.  We are reminding our players to seriously look at this training to help with their development. The time and day is probably not the best for some but all our staff feel, periodically, players who are serious about soccer, should seriously look at taking advantage of the extra session. The sessions are predominantly individual based and can focus on the needs of each player to improve their own game.

Communication.  The key to a successful club.
This will be on all my updates. Good communication is the key to as successful club.  All families in the club should have the accessibility to communicate with your team coach and DOC throughout the season.  Our coaches are reminded to have periodic meetings through the season to keep families up to date on the progression of the team.  Myself and the DOC’s emails are on the website if you need to communicate with us.  If you need to talk in person, we are in the office each day and if you do not reach us directly, we will return a call in a timely fashion to address any questions or concerns.  We have a fantastic full time staff here at CSA and some great team coaches. If you have any issues with your team, club etc please do not allow a problem to persist. Communicate with the staff so we can deal with it and move on in a positive way.

Thanks
Have a great week
