World Cup Petition (Charlotte 2018 or 2022)
The USA is bidding for the 2018 or 2022 World Cup Finals and Charlotte is one of the final locations in the race to be one of the host cities. The city needs your help to sign a petition and show the USA bid committee that we really want the best soccer in the world coming to Charlotte.
Fall Spirit Wear Order Process
We recently sent the managers the latest order form for the fall spiritwear that is available to our members. To streamline the process we are asking team members to submit their orders to their team manager with a check so we can process the orders here at the office by team and get the product out to everyone as quick as possible. We have the same product available from the summer as well as hooded sweatshirts, stadium jackets, and some booster items (knit hats, umbrellas blankets etc). We have asked our managers to have their team orders with payments submitted back to the office by the middle of next week. Please make sure you get your order in to them this week. If you need more info on the product available or need to check on sizes please call Kat Brown at the CSA office 704-708-4166 during the following times (Monday, Wednesday Thursday 10am – 1pm)
ODP and Club Conflicts (Club is a priority)
We have been having questions on ODP tryouts and conflicts that may come up if ODP is on the same dates as a club event (tournament, game etc) with your team. Please note that you will not be penalized if you miss an ODP tryout due to a team commitment. We have been notified by NCYSA that your club is a priority over ODP and if you do miss you will be invited to the next round of tryouts to be assessed. If you are considering ODP tryouts please contact your coach and/or DOC so they can give you additional information on the process and whether you should be encouraged to attend the tryout process. ODP information can be found on NCYSA’s website www.ncsoccer.org
You would still register for ODP if advised by your coach or DOC then send an email to the state office if you are missing a tryout day due to a club event and you will be invited to the next round of tryouts.
COACHES INFO - Off Season Training Policy
(No extra team training, only winter academy camp or indoor)
Questions have been coming up through our DOC’s on off season training with teams. Please note that teams will not be able to practice once the season is over as we close down all the grass fields and the turf is used for teams still in season for tournaments through the holidays and the US Academy teams. We encourage our players to participate in the winter training for their individual skills. Teams that want to continue have the option of playing indoor soccer and we are in the process of working out some discount programs for the various indoor programs being offered in the Charlotte area. More details will follow in the coming weeks.
Davidson Soccer Night for CSA: Oct 17th
We encourage families to attend CSA Night on October 17th to watch the Davidson men’s soccer team take on Furman. All CSA players wearing their jerseys will be getting in for free. Please make sure this is in your calendar. This is a great opportunity to see a high level college game and meet the staff and players.
Accounts Receivables (October 1st payment NOW DUE)
The October 1st payment for club fees is now due. Please make sure you make your payment online or via the office. PLEASE NOTE suspension from games and practices will be implemented if families are not current on dues. Questions on fees, please email Ken at admin@charlottesocceracademy.com
Winter Training Camp Registration Info on the Website
SIGN UP NOW TO SECURE A PLACE
Winter training information and registration is open. We will be doing independent training through the off season to keep players ahead of the game with a lot of technical training and small sided games. Beginning the week of November 30, we will run two sessions per week for three weeks and finish up with one more week in January after the holidays. Training will be available in the South Charlotte area and in Cabarrus. We also have a rec-level academy available.
OP Basketball sign up information.
For those young players who are interested in basketball during the off season, the following message is from Todd Vandemore, Basketball Director at OPRA Sports:
"Online Registration for the 2009/2010 Olde Providence Rec Association (OPRA) Basketball season is now open. We will keep registrations open online (www.oprasports.com) through October 29th (oprasports.com). We will have our player evaluation day on Sunday, November 1st at Ardrey Kell High School. Your exact evaluation time depends on your age division. A complete evaluation schedule will follow in a separate communication, and be posted on our website. While we encourage everyone to attend, if you are unavailable on our player evaluation day, we will still be able to place you on a team.
Remember, we have divisions for Boys ages 5-17 and for Girls ages 5-13. We practice and play our games at high quality CMS gyms in South Charlotte, including Community House Middle School, South Charlotte Middle School, Ardrey Kell High School, and Polo Ridge Elementary School.
Team selection and practices will begin the week of November 2nd. Games will start the first weekend in December. While we are still thinking and playing soccer right now, basketball season is right around the corner. If you have not played OP basketball before, we have excellent coaches who can take your natural soccer skill and apply that athleticism to the basketball court. Please be sure to register early, as certain age groups do fill rather quickly. Grab a few of your soccer friends and register for the upcoming OP basketball season.
Thank You, and we’ll see you on the court!"
Communication. The key to a successful club.
This will be on all my updates. Good communication is the key to a successful club. All families in the club should have the accessibility to communicate with your team coach and DOC throughout the season. Our coaches are reminded to have periodic meetings through the season to keep families up to date on the progression of the team. Email addresses for me and the DOC’s are on the website if you need to communicate with us. If you need to talk in person, we are in the office each day and if you do not reach us directly, we will return a call in a timely fashion to address any questions or concerns. We have a fantastic full time staff here at CSA and some great team coaches. If you have any issues with your team, club, etc please do not allow a problem to persist. Communicate with the staff so we can deal with it and move on in a positive way.
Thanks
Have a great week
