Recommended Info: Diet for Athletes in Season
A lot of questions have come from various coaches and parents on what players should eat prior to and before games during the season. Some teams have underperformed during tournament weekends, especially during afternoon games (after lunch) or early morning games (after breakfast) due to their diet and what they are consuming before they get out on to the field. Attached are some useful pointers for all staff and families on food consumption and the types of food needed to perform to a players full potential. We encourage our families to take this info and use it, as it will help maximize performances for each player and team.
Davidson Soccer Night for CSA: Saturday, Oct 17th
We encourage families to attend CSA Night on October 17th to watch the Davidson men’s soccer team take on Furman. All CSA players wearing their jerseys will be getting in for free. Please make sure this is in your calendar. This is a great opportunity to see a high level college game and meet the staff and players.
Fall Spirit Wear Promotion Starts Next Week
Next week we will be sending out information on spiritwear orders as we approach the holiday season. Items for purchase will include hoodies, warm ups, training tops, umbrellas, blankets. Details will be available on our website and through the managers as teams will order their main items through an order sheet distributed to each team. We will also have a special promotion on GK equipment and apparel.
Accounts Receivable (October 1st payment NOW DUE)
The October 1st payment for club fees is now due. Please make sure you make your payment online or via the office. PLEASE NOTE suspension from games and practices will be implemented if families are not current on dues. Questions on fees, please email Ken at admin@charlottesocceracademy.com
Winter Training Academy
Winter training information and registration will be online this week. We will be doing independent training through the off season to keep players ahead of the game. The Academy will include a lot of technical training and small sided games. Beginning the week of November 30, we will run two sessions per week for three weeks and finish up with one more week in January after the holidays. Details on the camp will be published on the website in the next few days.
October Dates for Technical, Speed & Agility and GK Training
Technical training, Speed training and GK training will run through October; the last sessions will be October 30th. Please note the last training for the older goalkeepers (U15-U18 girls) will be extended an extra week through November 5th to take them to the end of State Cup competitions.
MANDATORY COACHES EDUCATION SESSION - OCTOBER 11
3pm – 4pm for U9-U10; 415pm – 530pm for U11-U12; 545pm – 7pm for U13-up
All coaches (if you do not have scheduled games) are expected to be at CPI this Sunday for the 2nd coaching education session. Please be sure you attend the appropriate training time.
Communication. The key to a successful club.
This will be on all my updates. Good communication is the key to a successful club. All families in the club should have the accessibility to communicate with your team coach and DOC throughout the season. Our coaches are reminded to have periodic meetings through the season to keep families up to date on the progression of the team. Email addresses for me and the DOC’s are on the website if you need to communicate with us. If you need to talk in person, we are in the office each day and if you do not reach us directly, we will return a call in a timely fashion to address any questions or concerns. We have a fantastic full time staff here at CSA and some great team coaches. If you have any issues with your team, club, etc please do not allow a problem to persist. Communicate with the staff so we can deal with it and move on in a positive way.
Thanks
Have a great week
