Mexico v Iceland Game: Charlotte SA Discount Program
For those of you who are not aware, the Mexican National Team will be playing Iceland on Wednesday March 24th at Bank of America Stadium. Currently over 25,000 tickets have been sold and they are expecting 50-60,000 at the game. Charlotte Soccer Academy has worked with Soccer United Marketing, the company overseeing the game, to get a discount program set up for our club to save some money for each ticket purchased from a CSA member. Information on this discount will be sent through each team manager to save money booking through Ticketmaster. This game will be a great opportunity for all CSA players to see a world cup team prepare for the finals this summer in our home city. Anticipate more details within the next few days from your manager.

Field updates (weather) and Practice Options
I want to thank everyone for their patience with the limited practices teams have received over the past few weeks. We cannot control mother nature I am afraid and the bad winter that we have experienced has resulted in losing valuable time on the grass fields. Unfortunately due to park and recreation controlling the opening and closing of some of our practice sites, it is occasionally out of our hands to get fields open if P&R feel they are too wet. If we do continue to have more closures the DOC’s are now working together to ensure we get as many teams as possible on the turf fields or on other grass fields each night to get at least some type of practice. I appreciate families and teams being flexible to work with us as we try and find solutions each night when we have to cancel.

Update on Past Due Club Fees and Procedures for Collection
I have received some emails from families wanting to know the process of how we collect past due club fees. I wanted to clarify in this week’s update our procedure for collecting the fees to keep everyone on the same page. Please understand if a child is to participate with CSA, they have to be current on their dues. The payment plan on each age group is on our website and the spring fees were due January 15th. Ken Barker, CSA office manager will send out a reminder prior to the payment date to collect the spring fees. If a payment has not been received we will send out an email directly to the household reminding them of what is owed. This will occur twice over a two week period. Following these emails, if we do not receive any communication from a family regarding their fees, we have no choice but to suspend them from all participation of CSA practices and games. Please note, CSA will work with every family to get them up to date with their outstanding balances. When a family does not respond to continuous communication from the club, however, our choices are limited and the child will not be able to return to a team until they have communicated directly with the club office. I hope this clarifies our position, please ensure that you are current on your dues and if you have questions please direct them to Ken at the office. Thanks for your consideration in this matter.
Communication. The key to a successful club. ALWAYS ON UPDATES.
This will be on all my updates. Good communication is the key to a successful club. All families in the club should have the accessibility to communicate with your team coach and DOC throughout the season. Our coaches are reminded to have periodic meetings through the season to keep families up to date on the progression of the team. Emails for the DOCs and me are on the website if you need to communicate with us. If you need to talk in person, we are in the office each day and if you do not reach us directly, we will return a call in a timely fashion to address any questions or concerns. We have a fantastic full time staff here at CSA and some great team coaches. If you have any issues with your team, club etc please do not allow a problem to persist. Communicate with the staff so we can deal with it and move on in a positive way.
