Tournament Success
Congratulations to the U15 Girls Predator team for making it to the State Cup Final Four. The girls will be playing for advancement to the finals this weekend, November 12-13th. Congratulations to the U13 Girls Cabarrus Elite team for making finalist at the CASL Shootout this past weekend. Congratulations to U13 Boys Samba for making finals at the Greensboro Tournament this past weekend.
Thanksgiving Turkey Bowl
Our men’s U17 Predator, U14 Samba and U13 Gazelle teams are holding their annual toy drive and would like to ask for your help in making it the biggest success to date. Last year they collected over $500 in toys which were donated to the Salvation Army-Christmas Bureau to help families in need. Contributions, which can either be given to the teams directly or to any CSA coach, are now being collected and will end at the annual CSA Turkey Bowl Kick Around on Thanksgiving morning. The annual Turkey Bowl Kick Around is being held at Elon Park on Thanksgiving morning from 10:30am to noon. All current or former players of CSA are welcome to participate.
CSA Holiday Gift Packages
CSA has teamed up with our sponsors at Coca-Cola and Ruth’s Chris Steak house to bring you a great holiday package. The package includes a $200 Ruth’s Chris Gift Certificate and 2 tickets to ANY concert from Live Nation. All proceeds go to benefit our Financial Aid program. This is a great gift and will be helping out a great cause. Please click here for flier and contact the CSA office with any questions.
ECNL Girls Update
The 2011-2012 ECNL program has expanded to 66 Clubs from across the country and is the highest level of play for girl’s youth soccer. Out of the seven North Carolina clubs that have applied to be part of the ECNL program over the last two seasons, only Charlotte Soccer Academy and CASL have been selected.
The U14-U18 ECNL teams had a bye this past weekend but will be kicking off Saturday, November 12th and 13th away against the Gwinnette Soccer Association ECNL and the Birmingham United ECNL.
US Academy Boys Update
The US Academy is the newest initiative set up by US Soccer to identify the top players in the country and play them together in a formalized league structure. CSA was one of the first 64 clubs in the country (1 of 4 in NC) to be a part of this new league at the U16 and U18 boys level.  We now enter our 4th year in the program and the progression of youth soccer under this new system has been incredible.  The league now consists of 80 clubs and the quality of play throughout the country has been extremely high. This venue has placed our elite players on the map to get some extensive college exposure. Our U16 and U18 teams will begin preseason training in a few weeks following high school season playoffs.
The league has now expanded into the U14 division with the best players born in 1997 or younger competing in newly formed regional leagues.  The 14’s were off this past weekend and will be playing inter club games next weekend in preparation for their next league games November 19th – 20th vs. Concorde Fire and Georgia United.

REMINDER: Tour Opportunities to England Summer 2012
Each year CSA tries to send a team to the UK on an 8-10 day tour and we are trying to plan for 2012.  The trip is a combination of some great sites (including day trips to the major sites in London, one of the English Castles, a tour of a premier league stadium and of course games vs. international competition). The teams we put together range from rising U11 through rising U15 boys and girls. We had an open meeting this past weekend on putting teams together for next year.  If you could not attend the meeting and would like more information, please email me bwylde@charlottesocceracademy.com.

Communication - The key to a successful club.
This will be on all my updates. Good communication is the key to a successful club. All families in the club should have the accessibility to communicate with your team coach and DOC throughout the season. Our coaches are reminded to have periodic meetings through the season to keep families up to date on the progression of the team. My email and the email of each Director of Coaching is listed on the website. If you need to talk in person, please contact the club office and if you do not reach us directly, we will return a call in a timely fashion to address any questions or concerns. We have a fantastic full time staff here at CSA and some great team coaches. If you have any issues with your coach, team, club, etc. please do not allow a problem to persist. Communicate with the staff so we can deal with it and move on in a positive way.
