ACADEMY PHILOSOPHY

The start of the US Soccer Development Academy program at Charlotte Soccer Academy (CSA) in the fall of 2007 has been one of the most important initiatives by the club. The Academy is designed to provide very high quality training, games and showcase events for talented male youth soccer players. Through correct development and individual desire it is expected that many of the boys will be identified to play at the collegiate, professional and National Team levels.

Players train a least three times per week, use speed and agility training, and are also required to do off-season training. Each player will receive technical, tactical, psychological and functional training throughout the year. Each player will play in up to 30 season games per year with additional scrimmage games set up to give them more exposure to college coaches. Players are expected to attend all training sessions. The pool of players will number approximately 45-50 players ages 14 to 18 years old. All players are expected to abide by a code of conduct that covers on and off the field activities. The season runs from November until July each year.

The program is the pinnacle of the boys soccer programs offered at Charlotte Soccer Academy as we establish ourselves as Charlotte’s only full service club catering to all levels of play.
