ECNL COACHING STAFF

 Adam Denton - Director, Elite Clubs’ National League & U15-U18 R3PL/Classic Girls

Denton is a native of Liverpool, England. Playing Accomplishments include Professional Player with Everton Football Club (1995-1997) and Wingate University (1997-2001), SAC Freshman of the Year, All Conference, All Region and All- American Honors.                                                                                                             Denton holds his USSF "A" License, NSCAA Premier Diploma, UEFA "B" License, and is a current member of the USYS Region 3 coaching staff and the NC ODP staff.                                                                                                          Adam coached multiple teams to NC State Championships, Regional appearances and numerous tournament victories including WAGS, Jefferson Cup and the Disney Showcase. Adam has coached over 50 players that have went on to play at the Division 1 and Division 2 college level.

As the ECNL Director, Adam will be responsible for all the aspects of the CSA ECNL Program, including team practices, tournaments, game schedules, and the CSA Girls College Recruitment Program.                                                                                                    

 

Dan Dudley - Director, U13-U14 R3PL/Classic Girls
Dudley is a former collegiate standout at Catawba College and a three year professional player with the Carolina Dynamo.  A former 3 year Men’s Assistant Coach with High Point University and former 4 year Women’s Assistant Coach with Catawba College, Dudley comes to SCSA from FC Carolina Alliance where he served as Director of Coaching for six years.  Also a member of the NC Olympic Development State Team Coaching Staff, Dudley is fully qualified through NSCAA, holds a USSF A’ License and has a (MSS) Master’s in Sports Science from the United States Academy, Alabama.  Dudley will be directing in our Girls Program

 

Philip Poole - Director, Goalkeeping
Poole is qualified through the NSCAA holding the Premier Diploma and the U.S.S.F National A license.
Poole has held numerous soccer roles and worked along some of the best coaches in the Nation including stints as an assistant coach with UNC Charlotte 49ers, Charlotte Eagles (USL) pro goalkeeper coach, director of goalkeeping for the NC ODP program, and is a member of the USYS Region 3 coaching staff. 
Poole spent 4 years with Wingate University. While at Wingate, Poole was fortunate enough to win two conference championships and picked up many accolades along the way. While in his native England, Poole played as a youth player for Newcastle United before spending three seasons with Hull City AFC.
Poole’s development of goalkeepers at pro, college and club level has been very productive by placing two goalkeepers in the MLS, producing USYS Region III team participants, aiding two US Youth National team keepers, and developing multiple NCAA (DI & II) scholarship recipients

 

  

 

 
Ashu Saxena- ECNL College Coordinator
IIn addition to coaching ECNL Teams, Ashu will work with Adam Denton, ECNL Director and the other ECNL Coaches and players to assist them with the college process. Along with the ECNL Director and ECNL coaching staff Ashu will be able to answer questions about the college process and help set up conferences and visits with prospetive colleges.
 
Ashu has a wealth of experience and numerous college contacts from across the country. Ashu will inform players and parents of the various steps in the college process relative to each age group.
 
Ashu’s achievements include, 2000 USOC National Developmental Coach of the Year in Soccer; 1999 USYSA National Girls’ COY (1999 USYSA Reg One, NSCAA East Reg & VYSA Girls’ COY); 2001 Ffx Cty Champ of Character. Ashu is also taking his NSCAA Master course and currently holds his NSCAA Premier, Adv Nat/Nat, GK I/II & Dir of Coaching Diplomas.
 

 

 
Ashely Rex- ECNL Assistant
        Ashley played in the W2 League with the Carolina Dynamo and the Boston Renegades during the summer of 2006 and 2008. Ashley graduated UNC Charlotte in 2006 and while at UNCC received many honors both on and off the field. These honors include a Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament Championship leading to NCAA Tournament berth (2002 & 2007), Atlantic 10 Regular Season Conference Champions (2006 & 2007), Team Captain (2005, 2006 & 2007), Coaches Award (2005, 2006, & 2007) and Honorable Mention 2007 NSCAA College Women Scholar All-South Region. While in the U.S Youth System Ashley was a member of North Carolina Olympic Development Program State Team from 1999 to 2002.
                Ashley currently holds the National D License and is a part of the NC ODP Staff
