CSA Programs for 2014-2015

Charlotte Soccer Academy is the only full service club in the Charlotte area, offering our members opportunities to play and develop at all ages and levels: Recreation, U9/U10 Academy, Challenge, Classic, Region III Premier, Elite Clubs National League and US Development Academy.

CSA is excited to welcome the parents of MUFC to our organization. With this recent expansion, we will now be operating three geographic divisions within Charlotte Soccer Academy.

Charlotte Soccer Academy - North (CSA-North) These teams are based at our new facility near the Davidson Road (NC 73) exit of I-85. CSA North teams will practice and play most home games at the CSA North Complex.

Charlotte Soccer Academy - Matthews (CSA-Matthews) These teams will be based at Colonel Beatty Park near the town of Matthews adjacent to the Union County border, where they will practice and play most of their home games.

Charlotte Soccer Academy - Charlotte (CSA-Charlotte) This is our largest division. These teams will be based at locations throughout the south Charlotte area, including CPI Fields at Flat Branch Park, Davie Park, Elon Park, McKee Road Park, and JM Robinson Middle School. This division includes our ECNL and US Development Academy teams.

Please see the chart below for the programs that are available at various age levels. Program descriptions are available using the links to the left. All programs except recreation require a tryout. Tryouts are held in late April and May of each year for the soccer season beginning in August. Please check the home page of our website for tryout information and current team openings.

Charlotte Soccer Academy’s U10 and U11 Top Boys and Girls Teams to Compete Under  NCYSA Youth Academy Format

CSA is excited to announce that our top U10 and U11 boys and girls teams will compete under the NCYSA state wide Youth Academy umbrella for the 2014-‐2015 season. The reason for the move to is to create a more competitive game structure for our top U10s and top U11s in their true age.  CSA will be entering their top two U10 and top two U11 boys and girls teams starting in the fall.

Charlotte Soccer Academy is one of six clubs that will be putting their top teams into the NCYSA Youth Academy format for the younger age groups. CSA is joined by CASL, TUSA, TCYSA, GUSA and CUFC (Capital Area Soccer League, Triangle United Soccer Association, Twin Cities Youth Soccer Association, Greensboro United Soccer Association and Charlotte United.) Under this Youth Academy format, we can choose to play against these other clubs which will provide a more consistent level of competitive games with the importance being placed on development of players over results of games.  There are no standings kept in  the Youth Academy and the results of the games will be secondary to the quality competition and the quality training.

These teams will train three times per week, twice will be separate with their own teams and the third session will be a combination of the two teams with the whole age group coming together so we can continue to evaluate the players throughout the course of the season. Another benefit to playing under the Youth Academy Format is that we are allowed to move players freely between the two teams if needed.  CSA is very excited to continue to become involved in better ways to develop players within the age groups and provide the best environments for growth.
