Practice and Game Cancelations – If your practice or games was canceled due to weather, your coach will contact you with make up dates. We generally only make up missed practices if practice has been missed more than one time due to the number of teams practicing open field space is limited. All games will be rescheduled.
Saturday October 2nd will be our 3rd Silent Saturday at McAlpine Elementary School fields. We are excited to participate again in a movement to allow the children to experience and enjoy the great game of soccer. Below, is a brief description of what the expectations are. This is something that is being tried across the country, with all kinds of youth sports.
This has been tried in this league and other leagues and it was noted that the kids loved it and so did the Ref’s. On “SILENT SATURDAY “the coaches and parents should be silent on the side lines. Sometimes as a coach and as a parent we can become over enthusiastic and yell out constant instructions like, “Pass, Shoot, Clear the ball, Center”. With the sidelines being quiet, this will let the kids make their own decisions on the field, and they will be able to talk to each other. The children will decide who will take the corner kick, goal kick, or throw in. The children will be able to hear each other talk on the field with comments like “Pass, Center, Go wide.”
We encourage parents, siblings, and grandparents to make signs, banners or posters supporting their player. We will be awarding CSA water bottles to the TOP 5 signs. Please stop by our information booth for more details. Winners will be announced next week. Incase you really feel a need to yell or talk, we will be handing out suckers courtesy of EarthFare to help keep people occupied. Please remember this is all in fun, we encourage lots of clapping and above all LET THEM PLAY!!!
So, let’s sit back, suck on a lollipop, save our vocal chords, and enjoy the game!

CSA/SC Recreational Soccer
September 17, 2010
Welcome to the CSA/SC Recreation Soccer Program! Saturday we will play our first games of the season. Below are a few reminders and sideline expectations.
SAFTEY
Your child’s safety is our number one concern. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. If you are dropping off your child, you must let another adult know. Coaches are instructed not to leave until all children are picked up but please be considerate as we all have busy schedules Shin guards and cleats are required. Please remove any jewelry to avoid injury.
PARKING LOT
SLOW DOWN and WATCH OUT FOR CHILDREN in the parking lot. As you enter the school parking lot, turn slightly to the LEFT and drive in a CLOCKWISE direction. This is entering the parking lot staying left and circling around. Please be considerate of how you park. Space is limited. Please park close to the car next to you and if possible carpool to games and practices.
GARBAGE
We are guests of the school. Please remind your children to put trash in the garbage cans. Help REDUCE waste by bringing a reusable water bottle to games and practices. Set a good example … if you see something on the ground, pick it up. There is absolutely NO SMOKING on school grounds.
GAME/SIDELINE BEHAVIOR
A relaxed player is a better player. Yelling at players and telling them what to do is counterproductive. Let the coach, coach the children. Let them play and have fun. Please leave referees alone (U8-U18). For the most part like young players they are just getting started, are nervous and inexperienced. They will make mistakes. This is part of life and part of the game. We are asking coaches if parents are yelling at referees to address it at half time and if it persists, to bring it to our attention. Parents must remain on the sidelines opposite from where the coaches are. If you have specific questions for coaches regarding playing time, strategies, playing time, etc. please address them after the game but never on the field while a game is in session. Rude disruptive behavior will not be tolerated on our fields and you will be asked to leave.
GOALS
Please explain to your children the DANGER of hanging on the goals or playing with the nets. THE GOALS WILL FLIP OVER. We cannot stress this enough; if you see a child hanging on the goal please let the coach know.
Nothing but Noodles – Free kids meal on Saturdays
Wear you CSA game jersey or practice t-shirt to Nothing But Noodles on Saturday and receive a FREE kid’s meal with the purchase of an adult meal.
