July 27 Letter to Members

Membership Update
Preseason August 2020

July 2020

Dear CSA Members,

I hope everyone is doing well and despite this pandemic we are all going through, you have been able to enjoy some part of the summer with your family. This letter today is being sent to give you an update on our preparations for the start of our 2020-2021 season.

As we all expect, the start of this year will be a lot different than years past. Due to the virus and the current rules and regulations set forth by our governing bodies in youth soccer, as well as Governor Cooper, we are excited to still have the opportunity to kick start the year with our annual preseason camp and preseason training through August.

Our regular season will STILL BEGIN ON TIME with our annual preseason camp, Monday through Thursday August 3 – 6, 2020. This camp will be all technical based with a program designed by our National Program Directors to ensure players get fit, and sharp with and without the ball before we start our regular season practices. The camp is NOT mandatory, but we strongly encourage all our players to attend if possible as its designed to group players with their respective teams before regular practices begin and get players “ahead of the game” prior to the regular season. Registration online is still available at www.csacamps.com and there is a discounted rate of $125 if registration is made online prior to Thursday, July 30 at noon. Check the link for specific times and locations. Coaching staff are all planning to attend and run their teams throughout the week. The Director of Coaching may be covering sessions if a coach has more than one team. Please reach out to your coach or team manager for specifics on training times.

Due to North Carolina still being in Phase Two, our camp will be limited contact for the first full week of activities. Our policies and procedure’s related to training will run very similar to our back to play plan we implemented for our June sessions last month. All coaching staff will wear face masks and have hand sanitizer and all the camp sessions will be designed in a small group setting to ensure we are implementing the group limits allowed in athletic participation. As a reminder of our back to play plan, click on the link to review the Updated Covid-19 Guidelines.

We hope these policies and procedures we have in place will put everyone’s minds at rest that the health and safety of our players is the utmost importance to us. In order for the club to ensure these procedures are followed, however, we do need your help as parents, to adhere to our rules and regulations listed in our Guidelines. Please read the information again in its entirety and help us make our facilities and training sessions the safest possible environment for your children.

Regular practices will begin Monday, August 10th. Practice schedules will be posted this week on the Charlotte Soccer Academy website.

We hope by the 2nd full week of August, we will be able to slowly extend our sessions into more competitive type training. Of course, this plan is still TBD by the North Carolina Youth Soccer Association, US Youth Soccer and the health and safety guideline announcements from Governor Cooper prior to the start of that week. We are optimistic that we will progress into the next phase and will keep everyone updated prior to this announcement.

Preseason games through the early part of August are doubtful at this point due to Phase Two still being in effect. We have reschedule the clubs annual Preseason Tournament Series (Dicks Invitational) until later in the fall at the end of October and hope this date will be a great warm up for our older girls heading into state cup and showcase events, and our older boys for their preseason as well as finishing up the fall season for the rest of our teams.

NCYSA regular season games have announced three start dates with the first full play weekend of September 4th –5th then two proceeding weekends to follow if we are still on a delay. Our National/Regional program teams are expected to start their regular season at the end of August. CSA’s goal is to try and ensure all of our teams play some competitive type games prior to the start of their regular league play whether that be internally amongst other CSA teams or against some local competition. As we get more clarity on our progression into Phase Three, we will be able to send out more information on what and how these games will look.

We know this has been a frustrating time for us all, but we can see light at the end of the tunnel, and we are excited to start our season next week. For returning families to CSA, we appreciate your support, your commitment and your loyalty to our organization and for new families, we want to welcome you to our organization, and we look forward to having your sons and daughters as a part of our club.

If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to reach out to your respective Director of Coaching or our administrative staff. Attached is the document with all our department heads if you have any question related to something specific within our organization.

Regards,

Brad Wylde
Executive Director
