Membership Update – September 4, 2020

Dear CSA Membership,

Following the Governor’s announcement this past Wednesday progressing the State to ‘Safer at Home’ Phase 2.5, we are pleased to announce that NCYSA has decided to officially start the league season. Youth Academy Games and Classic competitive games are set to begin next weekend, Saturday & Sunday, September 12-13, except for the older boys age groups as noted below. Over the next week in preparation for the games, our coaching staff will continue to advance their training/practices with more competitive type sessions and integrating more game like scenarios to help our teams get prepared for the opening games.

As much as we are excited to get back to some normality within our program, it is extremely important our families, players and spectators continue to follow the guidelines that we have set within the club. These guidelines have been established through feedback from North Carolina Youth Soccer, The NC Department of Health and CDC Guidelines. We have updated our game day policies based upon feedback from the governing bodies which relate to all games, both home and away. Please review these game day guidelines on our website. If you have any questions regarding the policies and procedures, don’t hesitate to reach out to your respective Director of Coaching or Sectional Director.

Following the update to the season start date, additional adjustments have now been made to some age groups for the 2020-2021 season. Below is a list of important dates relative to the extension of the older girls’ USYS season and the early start date for the older boys’ USYS season.

15U-19U USYS Boys

• November 2:First week of training.
• November 14:First weekend of league games; games will be played through December 12/13, excluding Thanksgiving weekend.
• January - February 2021: 15U-19U Boys teams will take a hiatus in order to participate in their respective high school program (unless they are participating in a showcase over the holiday season).
• Week Beginning March 8:Training resumes to conclude season with the first play date the weekend of March 13/14.

15U-19U USYS Girls

• State Cup has tentatively been postponed to February for preliminary and Final Four competition.
• February 6-7 and 13-14, 202:Preliminary rounds with Final Four February 20-21.
• Due to the delay in starting the season, older girls’ league play will extend up through the weekend of November 21-22. Your respective Director will give you more information as the schedule is finalized.

We are very excited about kicking off our season. We look forward to seeing everyone at the fields in the coming weeks.
