Latest Guidelines for CSA Teams and Players

UPDATED: JANUARY 6, 2021.
Guidelines issues November 27, 2020 are still in effect and remain in effect until further notice.

CSA Members,
CSA distributed updated COVID guidelines (Dated November 27) to all players over the last few days. These were based on guidance from the NC Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) and NC Executive Order 180. We learned late Monday afternoon that the NCDHHS further clarified the guidance for players wearing face masks during training and games.

The NDHHS Interim Guidance for Youth and Amateur Sports, dated November 23, 2020 has been updated to read “DHHS recommends…wearing face coverings unless an exception applies” when participating in outdoor soccer activities.

From NCYSA: On the NC DHHS website, they define exceptions: "As under previous executive orders, several exceptions to the face covering requirement apply. For example, face coverings are not required for people under 5 years of age, people who have a behavioral condition or disability, or people who are actively eating or drinking.”
Disability: Some people may have trouble breathing or sensitivity to having something placed over their face. If you or someone you support is unable to wear a cloth face covering, be sure to take other steps to help avoid unnecessary exposure.

We have made the corresponding adjustment to our guidelines, which are attached. Please ensure your child continues to arrive and leave each session and game with a face covering and wear them during all athletic participation. Failure to show up with a mask/face covering will result in not being able to participate in any activity. Our goal at CSA is to continue to operate our winter and team training and complete the remaining scheduled games. We thank you for your continued patience as we adapt to the changing guidance and we appreciate your ongoing adherence to the recommendations to allow us to continue to work towards a successful winter season.

Regards,

Brad Wylde

Executive Director
