Charlotte Soccer Academy 16U-19 Girls Club Structure and Coaching Assignments for 2021-2022 Season
Club Structure and Programming Highlights Updated

Charlotte Soccer Academy is pleased to release the 16U -19U girls club structure and club coaching assignments 2021-2022 season.

“We are very excited about our program opportunities for our older girls and introduce a new infrastructure for the 2021-2022 season. We have made some productive changes in how we are structuring the club this year. These adjustments have been made to continue the evolution of the club and offer more opportunities for every level of play under youth soccer structure here in the United States. The ECNL National and Regional leagues combined with our continuous USYS youth soccer model has been a success for CSA this past year despite the adjusted scheduling with the pandemic. We are confident that these league opportunities will continue to push the club forward in being one of the top full-service clubs in the country.”

Highlights of our structure include our continued presence in the ECNL, where we were one of the founding members when it began in 2009. The league now stands alone as the top program in the country for girls' youth soccer. Brian Moore will continue his role as the Director of the ECNL National program. Since Coach Moore joined the program in 2019, the team and individual player successes have moved into a new level. More players have gained National exposure along with positive team results which has positioned CSA into one of the leaders in girls’ soccer across the country.

Steve Magee will continue to direct and oversee our teams in the ECNL Regional league which compete in the Carolinas division. This program has been created to gain more opportunities to advance the development for more players within its league format. This past year has been an incredible success across all age groups with CSA finishing the year on top of every age group losing only two games collectively over five age groups. With this success comes more individual player opportunities to advance to the National level due to the continued player development curriculum that has been implemented.

The Regional League will have a presence across all sections with teams predominantly playing in the South and North/Huntersville sections of the club. DOC Matt Denton will assist Coach Magee on the North/Huntersville side.

CSA will continue to provide opportunities within North Carolina in several sections of the organization playing under USYS (United States Youth Soccer). 16U-19U teams will be formed at the Premier and Classic levels in Charlotte, Matthews/Mint Hill, Uptown and our North/Huntersville locations.

Some familiar faces return to our USYS section. In our south program, Raymond Fraser will continue to oversee this program being the largest section in our club with support from DOC Gary Forbes, who will directly run the16U-19U boys and girls. Coach Fraser and Coach Forbes bring a fantastic combination of experience, leadership and professionalism to their programs as the south (Charlotte) sections continue to grow and prosper.

In our North/Huntersville programs, Matt Denton will continue to manage and run this section. Since joining CSA nine years ago Matt has been instrumental in offering all levels of play for our players in the Concord/Cabarrus and Huntersville area.

Our Matthews/Mint Hill branch will continue to expand our footprint within Union County. Andy Guevara will continue as the sectional director entering his 8th year with CSA. His loyalty and professionalism within the program helps set CSA apart as the leader in youth soccer in Union county.

CSA Uptown has progressed tremendously over the past two years offering more levels of play for families residing in the Uptown area. Dan Dudley will continue his role leading this section with Catey Stewart heading up our girls program as the DOC. Coach Dudley has been with CSA since inception and has been a key part of the overall success of the organization. Coach Stewart brings a wealth of experience to the section as we grow the membership in Dilworth, Myers Park and the Uptown areas of Charlotte.

Our new CSA Director of Coaching infrastructure for girls accompanies this press release. The new club structure will be in effect as of August 1, 2021. The current DOC structure will stay in effect through the end of our spring season. The transition to the new structure will be in place during our first week of the season at our pre-season camp in August.
