Academy Excited to Join the USYS National League Elite 64 (Elite 64) for 2022-2023
As was announced last week, Charlotte Soccer Academy is one of 64 clubs that have been selected to join the new national platform created by US Youth Soccer which kicks off its inaugural season in the fall of 2022. CSA is one of two clubs in the Carolinas, the other being NCFC, to be part of this new league.
“I am excited about adding this platform to our already highly competitive levels that we provide here at Charlotte Soccer Academy, and I look forward to incorporating the entire club into this program next season,” states Brad Wylde, Executive Director.
CSA decided to enter into this league as an added platform to the already existing programs offered at the club fulfilling the mission to provide every level of play. The main premise behind this is to give all players within the club an opportunity to play in this league and get additional exposure with showcase and tournament events being hosted by US Youth Soccer.
This program will be in an 8-club conference in the southeast with a minimum of 14 games over a 10-month season. The games will be sporadic over a total of 7 weekends. Each weekend the coaching staff will select a squad of 18 players from all sections and levels based on their performances within their given teams during the year to be a part of the Elite 64 squad for the weekend. The squad can change and players can be added or removed throughout the year so more players can be given the opportunity to experience this platform. In addition to league games and showcases during the year, the National Championship is held in the summer.
US Youth Soccer and Elite 64 have partnered with ProScore and STATSports to provide performance analysis that players can track over time to help their player development. This technology allows every team’s game to be monitored by colleges and professional clubs, becoming a recruiting tool for each player.
CSA’s Elite 64 coaching staff will be “A” licensed coaches and/or full-time Directors of Coaching within the club from our various sections. Coaching staff and the program directors for both the boys and girls programs will be announced in the coming weeks.
