CSA Introduces Shasta Minton, with Minton Counseling and Wellness, as Part of Their Mental Health and Well-Being Program
PINEVILLE, NC – As part of the CSA Mental Health and Well-Being Program combined with September being Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, CSA is excited to announce a one-of-a-kind, targeted program that will be implemented across all teams for the upcoming season. Educational parent information sessions, player surveys exploring social and emotional strengths and weaknesses, and individualized therapeutic services are just a highlight of what will be offered across all club locations, skill levels, and age groups.
CSA is partnering with Minton Counseling and Wellness https://www.mintoncounseling.com/ to bring mental well-being to the forefront of our athletes' overall training within the club. Shasta Minton, LCMHCA, founder and owner, has dedicated her professional career to promoting a strong mental health awareness within her community. As a mother of three, two of which are CSA athletes, Shasta has a vested interest in the mental stability of today's youth. A North Carolina native, Appalachian State University and Liberty University alumnae, she is excited to work closely alongside CSA players and staff to ensure all athletes reach their full potential both on and off the pitch. When not on the soccer field or driving carpool all over the Lake Norman area, Shasta enjoys spending quality time with her husband of 15 years, traveling to hidden gems and unexpected destinations or relaxing with close family and friends.
Shasta will begin this program with a series of parent informational Zoom calls broken down by age groups on Sunday, September 25, 2022. Times and age groups are listed below.
6pm-7pm: Ages 9-11
7pm-8pm: Ages 12-14
8pm-9pm: Ages 15-19
The Zoom sessions will be designed to give parents a broad overview of issues facing children today and helpful hints to help address these concerns. Details of the Zoom calls will be sent in the coming days to all families within each age group. CSA is excited to partner with Shasta in this important endeavor.
