CSA’s Spring Season Ends on a High
with a Record 13 Teams Competing in State Cup Semi-Finals
and a Singer Cup Champion
Charlotte Soccer Academy’s season is coming to an end on a high with a record 13 teams qualifying for Kepner and USYS final four appearances this coming weekend in Wilson, North Carolina.
In the Kepner Cup, the semi-final day will begin with the top 12U girls playing up an age at 13U. The 13U Charlotte Roma Team, coached by Stephano Williams, advanced to the semifinals and will play PGSA Stars. Kick off is at 8:30am next Saturday at the Gillette Complex in Wilson, NC.
Joining the 13U Roma in the Kepner Cup are the following teams and coaches:
- 13U Matthews/Mint Hill Boys King and head coach Saul Sosa will play WFC Raleigh Gold with a 2:00pm kick off.
- 14U Charlotte Girls Blue and head coach Bob Pierce will play NCFC Gold North with an 11:15am kick off.
- 14U Charlotte Boys King and head coach Rondell Honora will play CVYSA Blue with a 4:45pm kick off.
- 17U Charlotte Boys Liga and head coach Gary Hoilett will play NCFC Gold South with a 4:45pm kick off.
- 19U Matthews/Mint Hill Boys King and head coach Tyler Andrus will play FSC Force Blue with a 7:15pm kick off.
All semi-final games will be played next Saturday, May 18th in Wilson, NC.
In the USYS State Cup, CSA has 7 teams advancing to the final four this weekend. Our girls program continues to set itself apart from other clubs in the region with two teams advancing in the 13U age group. The South Elite Team and head coach Sean Carlisle advanced and will play NCFC Elite with a 2:00pm kick off next Saturday. On the other side of the bracket, the 13U Charlotte King girls and head coach Heather Frelin also advanced and they will play NCF Triad also at 2:00pm.
With regard to the boys, Charlotte South Elite 13U boys and head coach Kevin Summers advanced and will play NCFC Elite with an 8:30am kick off.
Joining the 13U’s are the following boys teams and coaches: Charlotte 15U South Elite and head coach Marko Luetge will play TUSA Wake FC with an 8:30am kick off. On the other side of the bracket, the 15U North/Huntersville Elite and head coach Matt Denton will play NCFC Gold South also at 8:30am. CSA’s 02 Elite South and head coach Rob Dalton advanced to play PTFC Black with a 2:00pm kick off. Rounding out the boys program is the 18U North/Huntersville Elite and head coach Chaz Montero who advance to the final four to play NCFC Elite with a 4:45pm kick off.
CSA also wants to congratulate the 13U Boys North/Huntersville King and head coach Boo Tesh who won the NCYSA Singer State Cup this weekend. They went unbeaten all weekend, beating NCFC Manchester City 4-2 in the final.

We have 13 teams in this Spring’s state final fours, not to mention the success this past Fall with state final fours in all older girl’s age groups and three state championships, it solidifies the foundations we are setting at CSA by ensuring our staff are developing our players the right way.”
