Mark Silke Retires
Mark Silke, long time CSA coach, has announced his retirement after 20+ years of coaching youth soccer in Charlotte. All of here at CSA will miss him greatly!!
Silkey is the founder and driving force behind the annual Turkey Bowl hosted by CSA and benefitting the Salvation Army toy drive. Since 2000, hundreds of current and former players and their families gather for friendly games on Thanksgiving mornings - all of them having a great time in exchange for a toy or monetary donation.
Silkey was selected NCYSA Boys Classic Coach of the Year for 2014-2015. This honor is awarded based on many heart-felt written recommendations from Directors, assistant coaches, former players and their parents. Silkey has impacted the lives of so many of our CSA families and will be missed by all.
CSA staff gathered to celebrate his "retirement" and wish him all the best!
