WELCOME!

CSA has been a proud member of the US Soccer Development Academy since its inception in 2007 as the elite National program for boys.

Recently, CSA was selected to offer the USSDA Program to our elite girls in age groups U14 - U18 and to offer an additional U12 Boys program to players in the north.

The start of the US Soccer Development Academy program at Charlotte Soccer Academy (CSA) in the fall of 2007 was one of the most important initiatives by the club. The Academy is designed to provide very high quality training, games and showcase events for talented youth soccer players. Through correct development and individual desire it is expected that many of the players will be identified to play at the collegiate, professional and National Team levels.

Players train a least three times per week, use speed and agility training. Each player receives technical, tactical, psychological and functional training throughout the year. Each player will play in up to 30 games per year with additional scrimmage games set up to give them more exposure to college coaches. Players are expected to attend all training sessions. All players are expected to abide by a code of conduct that covers on and off the field activities.

The Development Academy is a full year program offered in the following age groups and genders. The programs are based at the CSA OrthoCarolina Sportsplex except as noted.

U12 Boys • U12 Boys (North) • U13 Boys • U14 Boys • U15 Boys • U16/U17 Boys • U18/U19 Boys

U14 Girls • U15 Girls • U16/U17 Girls • U18/U19 Girls

The program is the pinnacle of the soccer programs offered at Charlotte Soccer Academy as we establish ourselves as Charlotte’s only full service club catering to all levels of play.

What is the Development Academy Program?

Following a comprehensive review of elite player development in the United States and around the world, U.S. Soccer created the Development Academy in 2007. The Academy Program's philosophy is based on increased training, less total games, and more meaningful games using international rules of competition.

The Academy has recently expanded programming to include a Girls' Development Academy that will begin in Fall 2017. The Academy has 197 total clubs, comprised of teams across six age groups in the boys program: U-12, U-13, U-14, U-15, U-16/17, and U-18/19 and four age groups in the girls program: U-14, U-15, U-16/17, and U-18/19. The Academy Program focuses on positively impacting everyday club environments to assist in maximizing youth player development across the country. The Academy values individual development of elite players over winning trophies and titles. The Academy sets the standard for elite environments for youth soccer clubs nationwide and is a part of U.S. Soccer's global leadership position in youth soccer that will impact thousands of players.
