For Immediate Release:  Technical Director, Patrick Daka, To Leave Post with CSA

Accepts Position with Charlotte MLS Team

Charlotte Soccer Academy announces that Technical Director, Patrick Daka will be leaving his post with Charlotte Soccer Academy. Coach Daka intends to pursue his career at the professional level and has accepted a position with the new Charlotte MLS franchise. Coach Daka has been a part of CSA for over 15 years. He has been instrumental in the development of a curriculum to cater to all levels and sections of our program. Daka has played a major role in progressing players through the ranks in the youth game with several of our elite players now playing collegiately and professionally throughout the United States.

CSA Executive Director Brad Wylde says, “Patrick has been an integral part of the success of Charlotte Soccer Academy over the years. He has been a key force in our organization in both the technical and coaching sections of our club helping progress players and teams through to the national platforms. I know the decision to leave us was not an easy one but an opportunity to pursue a professional career with our new MLS team was too hard to pass up. The CSA Board of Directors and I personally want to thank Patrick for his commitment to CSA and to the sport of soccer. We wish him much success in all his future endeavors.”

Patrick shared his thoughts by saying, “Working with Brad Wylde, the board of directors, administration staff, directors, maintenance staff, coaches, volunteers, parents and players at CSA has been the greatest honor. Since joining this amazing club back in 2004, I have worked with and alongside unbelievable people who helped me grow into the coach and trainer I am today. I am proud of what we have been able to achieve together. Many thanks to Brad who entrusted me with one of the club’s most important responsibilities. He also gave me the flexibility and autonomy to leave my prints in the club’s direction. I am also thankful to all my colleagues, past and current, who allowed me to express myself, blossom and contribute to the growth of this club. The decision has not been easy, but my family and I believe it is the next natural step in my professional and personal development. I will forever cherish the memories we created along the way and will be eternally grateful for the opportunity I have had to be part of Charlotte Soccer Academy’s journey. Our son, Tendai grew up and graduated in CSA, so our roots are not only from a coaching perspective but also from a parental and family perspective. My wife, Blessed and I, received tremendous support from the soccer community and built lasting friendships. That is why it is with a heavy heart that we bid farewell. However, I will always be a fan of the club, its players, programs and members and I will be sure to stay in touch.”

Patrick will continue his role at CSA through June with a planned July start date with the MLS. CSA will be integrating his duties among other staff until a nationwide search for his replacement is conducted.
