ED Letter to Members

Membership Update – January 18, 2021

CSA Members,

Happy New Year to everyone and we hope you had an enjoyable holiday season. I wanted to send our membership a letter following the Mecklenburg County Public Health Director’s Directive regarding residents reducing non-essential activities through February 2, 2021.

After careful consideration and discussions within our senior leadership team, dialogue with our state association, other sports organizations and pillars in the community, we have come to the conclusion that the basis behind the Directive is to continue to be more vigilant and increase our due diligence in regard to health and safety of our membership and community. With that in mind, our operations will continue to progress; however, we will be adjusting the start dates for pre-season for the majority of our club programs.

Our scheduled return to play for the USYS teams was planned for the week beginning January 25th. We will now push this date back one week to start the week beginning February 1st . Only teams with league games or teams participating in the girls’ weekend of our PUMA Kings Cup, January 30-31, will return to play the week beginning January 25th. We have to be flexible in the coming weeks in regards to practice and game locations for all of our teams in all locations due to field availability. Directors will connect with their teams to let them know when their start dates will be and where practices will be held.

The pandemic has caused us to continue to be fluid in our decision-making process. We appreciate everyone’s patience and willingness to be flexible in regard to our adjustments and scheduling. Our staff and coaches will continue to work diligently to follow the CDC and state guidelines and recommendations/protocols at all practices and game facilities. We ask that you continue to adhere to our guidelines which include wearing masks at all events, social distancing and using sanitizer/washing hands, to ensure that we can continue to provide a safe environment for your children. A full list of our guidelines can be found on our website (LINK). We have been fortunate to continue to play since we started in the fall and we do not want that to change, so we ask you to continue to be supportive of the rules and regulations that have been set forth by the organization.

We apologize for the inconvenience of this slight delay in the adjustments to our start date for the spring and we look forward to getting everyone back on the field in the coming weeks. Please continue to monitor our website, monthly newsletter and social media channels for continued updated information. If you have any additional questions or concerns, do not hesitate to reach out to your respective Director of Coaching or administrative personnel.

Regards,

Brad Wylde
