3 CSA Teams in Final Four

Three CSA Teams Advance to NC Kepner Presidents Cup
Final Four State Championships being held in Wilson, NC

Congratulations to Kepner Cup Participants:
13U Elite 1 Girls
13U North Broncos Blue
15U Matthews/Mint Hill King

Charlotte Soccer Academy ended the USYS season on a high advancing 3 teams to the NC Kepner Presidents Cup Final Four. After a great couple of weekends of play from all age groups, the following teams have advanced to the semi-final games, which will be held at the J. Burt Gillette Athletic Complex in Wilson, NC on May 22-23.

At the 13U age group, the 09 CSA Elite 1 Girls, playing up an age group and coached by Mark Thornton, advanced to the Kepner Cup Final Four by topping their group with 2 wins and a tie. They will play the 09 NCFC Pre-Courage Navy G in the semi-finals on Saturday in Wilson with an 8:30AM kick off.

Also, at the 13U age group, the CSA North Broncos Blue, coached by Napo Carachure, advanced to the Final Four. This team maintained an unbeaten record through group play scoring 17 goals and allowing only 1. They will play WCWAA Black at 2:00PM on field 8.

At the 15U age group, the CSA Matthews/Mint Hill King team, coached by Jake Harrison, advanced to the Final Four of the Kepner Cup with an unbeaten record through group play. They outscored their opponents 17-2 in the group stage matches and quarterfinal. They will play WFC North at 11:15AM on Saturday, May 22nd.

From Executive Director Brad Wylde, “I want to congratulate the coaches, players and Directors of Coaching for their accomplishments this season. This is a great achievement for the programs. When you combine this success with our National and Regional program teams on both the boys’ and girls’ side, it continues to solidify the progression of CSA to be one of the strongest clubs in the region and country from top to bottom. A lot of credit needs to go to the coaching staff and the Directors of Coaching, who have done a fantastic job with all the teams within their age groups this season. We hope the teams will perform to their full potential this weekend and put themselves in a position to win a state title. Regardless of the results, we are very proud of all the teams and coaching staff, and we hope they relish the experience. Congratulations to all and good luck.”
